Foundation & Substation Construction

Civil and structural work for substations and the infrastructure around them, built to utility specification.

Scope runs from site work and concrete foundations through structural steel — the groundwork that switchyards, transformers, and line terminals stand on.

SPE coordinates the civil package with the utility's electrical scope so foundations, pads, and structures are ready when the equipment arrives.

Site Access, Prep & Restoration

Matting, access roads, staging areas, and right-of-way work — getting crews and heavy equipment where they need to be, including ground that will not carry them unaided.

SPE plans access before the first truck rolls: matting routes, laydown yards, and staging that keep a project moving without tearing up the property it crosses.

When the work is done, sites are restored and left right — access removed, grades repaired, right-of-way put back.

Streetlights

Installation, maintenance, and repair of roadway and municipal lighting systems.

SPE handles new installs, knockdown replacements, and system-wide maintenance programs — the recurring work that keeps a municipality's lighting inventory healthy.

Crews are equipped for both individual service calls and scheduled corridor-by-corridor programs.

Drilled Shaft Foundations

Drilled shaft foundations for transmission structures and other heavy infrastructure.

Auger rigs drill to design depth, crews set the rebar cage, and concrete goes in to utility specification — the foundation package for monopoles and lattice structures.

SPE self-coordinates drilling, access, and concrete so the foundation schedule tracks the line schedule, not the other way around.

Vibratory Caisson Installation

Caisson installation using vibratory methods — fast, clean installs where soil conditions allow.

A vibratory hammer drives the caisson without the spoil and cure time of a drilled foundation, which keeps line projects moving in the right soils.

Crane crews handle the full pick-set-drive sequence, coordinated with the structure schedule.

Pole Inspections

SPE runs system-wide pole inspection programs for utilities on a scheduled cycle — not just after a storm.

Inspectors check pole condition at ground line, hardware, and attachments, and flag poles that need replacement or reinforcement before they fail.

Findings feed directly into the utility's maintenance planning, so the poles that get replaced are the ones that would have gone down in the next event.
